Schitts Creek Rosebud Motel

The abandoned Blackwood Asylum looms on the hill, a skeletal silhouette against the bruised twilight sky. Built in 1888, it was originally hailed as a beacon of progressive psychiatric care, a place where the afflicted could find solace and healing. Dr. Alistair Finch, a man lauded for his innovative (and some whispered, controversial) treatments, believed in unlocking the mind’s potential. However, by the early 1900s, whispers turned to outright accusations of inhumane practices. Overcrowding, experimental procedures like lobotomies and electroshock therapy – often administered without proper anesthesia – and a general disregard for patient well-being led to a grim reputation. A catastrophic fire in 1957, the cause of which remains a mystery, sealed its fate, leaving it a husk of its former self, a monument to forgotten suffering.
